Rusty and his family were searching for a project that would enable them to utilize their land in an environmentally beneficial way while creating a legacy for future generations. After careful consideration, they chose bamboo due to its positive impact on the land in Portugal and the environment more broadly. Rusty is also enthusiastic about introducing bamboo production to Portugal as a means to diversify agricultural development in the central region of the country, where innovative ideas are needed to make the most of limited resources and attract greater investment and opportunities to local communities.
